Tasting notes: This delightful wine is made of Longyan (Dragon Eyes) – a Chinese indigenous grape variety. This delightful wine is pale straw in colour and enjoys aromas of lemon, pear, green apple, honey and white flowers, clean, crispy and refreshing on the palate with lively acidity.
Pairing: This wine pairs well with seabass, scallop and prawn.
Feature: Longyan is a dark skinned vitis vinifera variety traditionally grown for table grapes for over 800 years in China, exact origins unknown, now grown in northern regions, primarily Huailai region to produce dry white wines.
About the Winery: Martin winery is in Huailai region which is in the Hebei province in eastern central China (east of Shanxi). Grape growing is at around 750m and the province does gain some benefit from costal influences although the region also suffers from monsoons.
